How to get to Rye

How To Get To Rye By Car

The digital guide for each property will be sent to you a month prior to your arrival.  This will detail the exact postcode and give you instructions on how to get here.

JUNCTION 5 OFF THE M25.  Head for the A21 towards Hastings.  Stay on A21 – continue until Flimwell (thorugh Lamberhurst).  At the traffic lights on the A21 you want to turn left onto the A268 towards Hawkhurst.  Continue through Hawkhurst, Sandhurst and then  Newenden, after the Old Mill on left take the next left to Rye (7 miles – still the A268).

Follow road through Peasmarsh, Rye Foreign, down a hill into Rye.

How To Get To Rye By Train

The new high speed train from St Pancras to Folkestone has revolutionised train travel to Rye!  It is only 35 minutes to Ashford from St Pancras and then you can either take a taxi (30 mins) or change trains to the Rye train (approx 20 minutes) – check out train times and connections with www.thetrainline.com  Alternatively trains run from Charing Cross and takes 1 hour 20 to Ashford changing for Rye.

How To Get To Rye By Airports

The easiest airport is Gatwick – from Gatwick Airport you go to either Brighton, Eastbourne or Lewes and change to Rye.  It is approximately 2 hours – do take a look at the above link for train travel.  You can hire cars at all major airports.  From Heathrow Airport, it is suggested to catch the tube on the Piccadilly line into Central London to St Pancras and then train to Ashford.
